Off Topic Post - The role of Antiques

Dear 8th graders,

This will be what I like to call our first "off topic post." This will be a blog post that has little or nothing to do with our larger unit.

Please note THIS IS DUE: 10/16/2018 by 11:59 PM !!!

Antiquity is a noun which means:

"ancient times" or "great age" or "relics of ancient times"

an Antique can be a noun "an object made in a bygone period." or an adjective "belonging to antiquity"

They both share the Latin root word -ante which translates to "before", "former", or "earlier."

For this post, I want you to watch this video, and then respond to the following points
- What is something you took away from the video?
- What purpose or role do "antiques' have in our society?
- Is there any hobbies or interests you have that might be considered "antique"?
